Springfield Technical H.S

Through collaboration with the Springfield Honors Academy students, we constructed a network-building-based game teaching participants to collaborate to make this make-believe region stronger. The stream table functions as a game board, simulating a real-life river. A river and watershed is the ideal metaphor to explore how problems in one town are inherently tied to problems in another, as water does not adhere to municipal or regional boundaries. The inclusion of the stream table took this workshop to the next level, but creates logistical issues for easy replication for the BRPC or town administrators. Completing a version of our Budgeting activity with more interactive options. The students placed there dollar amounts they decide on will then inform us on what community members prioritize and we can transfer that information to our regional prioritization toolkit. To get a holistic view on community needs.
